Hotel Turismo

Hotel Turismo is a 2015 documentary filmed in Argentina, exploring the past and future aspirations of the native tribes of Formosa. Formosa is the northernmost province of Argentina, located on the border with Paraguay.

After the devaluation of the peso in 2002, investments were made to transform the city and its province into an international tourist paradise. However, just a few miles outside the capital, the stark poverty of the surrounding territory becomes evident.

The local communities are made up of native peoples who, until now, have lived almost entirely isolated from the rest of the world.
